The Scholarly Kitchen (TSK), in collaboration with the Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP), is excited to announce the launch of its 2025 Readership Survey. This initiative invites the scholarly communications community to share their thoughts and experiences with TSK, helping to shape the future of one of the most widely-read blogs in scholarly publishing.
Your input matters whether you’re a frequent reader, an occasional visitor, or rarely engage with TSK. The survey is designed to gather a wide range of perspectives, offering everyone in the scholarly communications community a chance to weigh in on how TSK serves the profession and its evolving needs.
The 2025 Readership Survey focuses on several key areas, including how well The Scholarly Kitchen meets individual and organizational professional needs, whether its content reflects diverse perspectives on the scholarly publishing industry’s challenges, and how effectively it represents the priorities of various sectors across the community. It also invites participants to reflect on TSK’s broader role as a resource, discussion platform, and industry voice.
Your feedback is critical to ensuring that The Scholarly Kitchen continues to be a relevant, engaging, and impactful resource. The results of this survey will help us identify areas where we can better support the scholarly communications community, measure progress since our last readership survey, and guide strategic adjustments to meet the profession’s changing priorities.
All survey responses will be anonymous and analyzed by members of the Kitchen Cabinet, the team responsible for overseeing TSK. High-level findings will be shared with the SSP Board, TSK authors (the “chefs”), and attendees at SSP’s 47th Annual Meeting in Baltimore, MD.
The survey is open now and will close on March 7, 2025. It takes just 10–20 minutes to complete, and as a thank-you for participating, respondents will be entered into a drawing to win one of ten exclusive Scholarly Kitchen aprons—perfect for professional and home chefs alike!
Take the survey today to help shape the future of The Scholarly Kitchen and ensure it continues to meet the needs of the scholarly communications community. Your voice is essential, and we look forward to hearing from you.
