Seminars and Trainings

Seminars give scholarly publishing professionals a focused opportunity to convene and discuss the latest trends and challenges facing our industry. SSP holds its hybrid New Directions Seminar each fall, offering a more intimate setting for in-person attendees while providing streaming access to those unable to attend in person.

Trainings provide practical information on key topics in scholarly publishing for early- to mid-career staff. Annual virtual trainings include the Journals Academy held in late fall and the Leadership Academy held in late winter/early spring. Periodic training-style sessions focused on specific topics (copyright, open access, and ethics) are held periodically. Some virtual trainings are available to purchase OnDemand.

SSP members are eligible for discounts on seminars & trainings. All staff at member organizations are eligible for member pricing and organizational membership discounts.
