BioOne, the leading nonprofit aggregator in the biological, ecological, and environmental sciences, is pleased to announce a new strategic partnership with GOBI Library Solutions. This collaboration ensures libraries worldwide can seamlessly acquire BioOne’s scientific eBook collections, encompassing research across the biological, ecological, and environmental sciences through GOBI’s trusted acquisition platform.
Through this agreement, BioOne eBooks will now be available for procurement via GOBI, allowing libraries to streamline processes while gaining access and integrating digital resources from over 360 eBooks into their library collections.
BioOne eBook collections feature critical scientific content from longtime BioOne publishing partners, providing researchers and practitioners with resources in biodiversity research, conservation biology, ecology, entomology, agriculture, and environmental sciences. The ESA eBook Collection offers 165 exclusive and newly digitized titles from the Entomological Society of America. The CSIRO Publishing BioSelect Collection includes 219 curated eBooks from Australia’s leading science publisher, CSIRO Publishing. Both collections are exclusively delivered via the BioOne Digital Library platform alongside the flagship BioOne Complete aggregation.
“Our partnership with GOBI aligns with BioOne’s mission to make critical bioscience research more accessible, and helps us deliver this valuable content from ESA and CSIRO Publishing to even wider audiences,” said Christine Orr, Senior Director of Business and Community Development at BioOne. “This collaboration also helps libraries with an additional option for a trusted path to acquiring essential resources that advance scientific discovery and support researchers worldwide.”
“We are excited to make BioOne’s content available through GOBI Library Solutions, giving libraries greater choice in building the collections their communities depend on,” said Jon Elwell, Senior Vice President of Books for EBSCO. “Today’s libraries need broad and trusted content streams, and GOBI’s role is to simplify access by bringing the most comprehensive academic book resources together in one place. By adding BioOne, we’re helping libraries more easily acquire the materials that support teaching, research, and discovery.”
These collections support academic institutions in building comprehensive digital libraries that serve the research needs of students, faculty, and researchers across multiple disciplines. The partnership reflects a shared dedication to advancing scientific research by providing institutions with comprehensive, high-impact digital resources that support discovery and innovation. Libraries interested in accessing BioOne’s eBook collections through GOBI can contact their GOBI representative or visit the GOBI Library Solutions platform for more information about available titles and acquisition options.
