We are excited to announce that nominations are now open for the 2025 SSP Emerging Leader Award, which will be presented at our 47th Annual Meeting in Baltimore this May.
This prestigious award honors an SSP member with 1 to 8 years of experience in scholarly publishing or communication who has exemplified outstanding leadership, innovation, and service through contributions to SSP committees, task forces, and the wider field.
Any SSP member may submit a nomination packet proposing a candidate for the SSP Emerging Leader Award, and self-nominations are welcome!
In addition to verifying the candidate’s eligibility, nominators must submit a short summary (300-500 words) explaining why the nominee deserves this honor, along with a recommendation from a mentor or supervisor of the nominee.
The winner will be selected based on their demonstrated record of service and leadership within SSP, contributions to the scholarly communications field that extend beyond benefiting their employer, and exceptional dedication to advancing the field.
If you know an SSP member who meets these criteria—or if you believe you are the perfect candidate—please consider submitting a nomination for the Emerging Leader Award. Eligibility criteria and the nomination process are available now.
Established in 2012, this award acknowledges the achievements of rising stars in scholarly publishing who demonstrate their leadership potential through outstanding service and contributions.
Nomination packets are due by March 28, 2025. Don’t miss the opportunity to recognize the next generation of leaders in scholarly communications!
